High School Multi-Sport and Single-Sport Infographic

I decided to go with this infographic on single sport specialization of athletes, because it is clear, simple, and easy to understand based on the three images and elements that are included.

This infographic lays down a majority of the design principals for news apps and graphics. The infographic has the principle of invisibility; the background is white, which keeps it plain and simple. The plain background also allows the dark and light blue words to stick out, along with the red images. However, it does lack bringing attention to a reader. It gives a good understanding of the principle of scale. The large printing of the words on the infographic shows that the statement that is being presented, is very important. The large images are red, which have the meaning of danger or caution. From a far distance, you will notice that it’s a sign with that meaning. We wouldn’t know what it is stating until you get closer to the infographic, if not presented in this form. The infographic poorly presents the principle of alignment. There are thin blue lines that separate the elements that are being presented in each section, but it can be very easy to get lost of what is being separated.

The Infographics does display contrast in the use of different colors. The letters on the top are large with the color of dark blue, giving the proposal of what the infographic is explaining. Along with the large words that are in light blue, there are indicating cons for single-sport athletes and pros for being a multi-sport athlete. The images on the infographic are large and in red indicating the caution of the consequences of being a single sport athlete. The infographic falls short with the proximity; it does not separate anything by gender, age, youth or adults. It separates the purpose of the element and the organizations. The infographic could have a greater amount of detailed elements added to make it more approachable. However this infographic is simple, clear and very to the point, highlighting major points.
